Apple Health Data Priority - app reverts to put Apple Watch first when I try to prioritize a third party exercise app

Hello,

When I edit the Health App data source priority to put my Bluetooth-connected elliptical app first, I hit "done" and it shows the correct data source priority order. But if I then click away and come back, the Health App has reverted back to the old data priority order and put my Apple Watch first and elliptical app second.

Is there a way to prevent Apple Health from disregarding my edits to the data priority order? I use my elliptical while I'm working (I have one of those goofy elliptical desks), so the Apple Watch is not accurately tracking my exercise (since I'm not moving my arms at all) and the elliptical app is.

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. From my understanding, you'd like your elliptical app to take priority in the Health app on your iPhone, but that source unexpectedly resets. I'd like to share some options for support.

First, I recommend ensuring that the steps in the section, "Prioritize data sources" in the following support article are being taken: Manage Health data on your iPhone, iPod touch, or Apple Watch

Next, I recommend following steps 1-3 in the support article below since closing the Health app, restarting your device, and checking for updates often resolves many unique issues: If an app unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open

You might also consider starting an Elliptical workout in the Workouts app on your Apple Watch to be sure you get credit for working out while working: Start a workout on Apple Watch
