I keep getting a notice from myemailsimplified.com to scan for suspicious apps and Norton Anti-Virus .

Uninstall all third party Anti-virus, it causes nothing but issue on the Mac and interferes with Apples own built in security.

Pop ups like this are often phishing adware/malware that slipped through he cracks

Avoid phishing emails, fake 'virus' - Apple Support

If you suspect you have installed adware/malware. Try running this trusted utility https://www.malwarebytes.com/mac/
