Sending email using Mac app

I’m still having trouble with mail after I downgraded my iMac to El Capitan, and I thought it was 10.15.3 what the heck I just thought it was the upgrade but I’m wrong and I did everything nothing worked, any ideas? Are out there.

iMac 27", OS X 10.11

Apple has tried to do that, and has tried to adapt the client configurations as the mail providers have evolved and changed the existing local configuration requirements, and has set up templates for major services, but there’s still site-local variations on how this stuff works. Mail itself itself is very old, and very creaky, and very much filled with spam, and where different clients and different servers are differently-compatible. Mostly. Usually. And then there’s Google, and Google sometimes just does their own unique thing and everybody else gets to deal.
