CarPlay thinks iPhone is an iPod and won't connect using usb
Car play Worked fine but now thinks iphone is an ipod and won't connect using usb, an auto update has happened on phone Could that be a problem?

Check for updates to the dashboard firmware, and apply newer as available.
Check for any applicable TSBs for your vehicle.
Un-pair, and reboot, and then re-pair the iPhone, and try again.
