Compatible memory?

I have a 2019 27" iMac which I ordered with 16 Gb RAM. I recently ordered 2 x 8Gb Crucial memory sticks (Crucial CT16G4SFD8266 16 GB (DDR4, 2666). However, the suppler sent me 1 x 16 Gb Module. Given that the information in About this Mac says that it has 4 slots for 8 Gb modules would I be correct in assuming that the new modules might not work as intended? I am also concerned about using the 16 Gb with and 2 8 Gb invalidating my warranty and service cover.

Promise? j/k

If I fit the 16 Gb module in one of the existing free slots will it have any detrimental effect on my Mac? That would give me 32 Gb but would it pose any problems?

As I mentioned above, it should be fine. Normally memory is installed in pairs but users have installed just one extra module without a problem.
