Magic Keyboard Not Identified

I have the new black Magic Keyboard with a numeric pad. It does work with my MacBook Pro 2017; however, when I go to the Keyboard settings under System Preferences it tells me it can't recognize my keyboard and then it takes me to another screen that tells me to push the button directly located to the right of the SHIFT key (which is Z). I do this and my computer tells me "Your keyboard cannot be recognized

. Why is this? And How do I fix it?
