Apple Music/Itunes Repeats End of Song, Even After Zero Seconds
I know this question has been asked a couple of different ways by a few different people. So I will try my best to explain and provide sufficient details.
Problem: A few songs that I have in itunes repeat a few seconds after they end. This problem is not resolved even after I restore my ipod and/or delete the song and re-add it to the apple music app (on my desktop computer).
Details: I'm using an early 2013 MacBook Pro 15 inch running Catalina (10.15.3). I transfer my music to my iphone manually. Why? Because I have no desire to pay to use Apple's music streaming service and prefer Spotify anyway. That being said, I don't use automatic sync, I move my music via "drag and drop".
What the issue sounds like: Imagine you are listening to the end of Adele's Set Fire To the Rain. A classic right? The final lyrics to the song are:
I set fire to the rain
And I threw us into the flames
When we fell, something died
'Cause I knew that that was the last time
The last time
Let it burn
Let it burn
In a normal scenario, the song should end with the last "Let it burn" and move on to the next. Except, in this case, it ends, then repeats that last verse again:
I set fire to the rain
And I threw us into the flames
When we fell, something died
'Cause I knew that that was the last time
The last time
Let it burn
Let it burn
The problem is that the timecode already reads 00:00. So there's nothing left. There's nothing there. Except, there is.
Where are these songs coming from: I get my music from digitizing physical albums and purchasing online -- ironically, you might suspect that corruption of the file might be due to having a pirated version. But your assumption would be flawed as this "repeating" issue occurs to my song files at random. There doesn't seem to be a pattern as to which songs have this issue.
Solution: There is no permanent solution, currently. The way that I've remedied this issue so far is to delete the song from my itunes and itunes library folder, then re-add by either downloading the song again or ripping the song from the album again.
I doubt that it will or can be resolved, and I'm certain that Apple does not care. They are notorious for blaming their product and software set-backs on "customer error". I'm old enough to remember the era of "You're holding it wrong". -- Still, I wanted to leave this here for anyone else who might experience this issue as well, and feels like they are going crazy. You're not alone.
