Apple Music/Itunes Repeats End of Song, Even After Zero Seconds

I know this question has been asked a couple of different ways by a few different people. So I will try my best to explain and provide sufficient details.

Problem: A few songs that I have in itunes repeat a few seconds after they end. This problem is not resolved even after I restore my ipod and/or delete the song and re-add it to the apple music app (on my desktop computer).

Details: I'm using an early 2013 MacBook Pro 15 inch running Catalina (10.15.3). I transfer my music to my iphone manually. Why? Because I have no desire to pay to use Apple's music streaming service and prefer Spotify anyway. That being said, I don't use automatic sync, I move my music via "drag and drop".

What the issue sounds like: Imagine you are listening to the end of Adele's Set Fire To the Rain. A classic right? The final lyrics to the song are:

I set fire to the rain

And I threw us into the flames

When we fell, something died

'Cause I knew that that was the last time

The last time

Let it burn

Let it burn

In a normal scenario, the song should end with the last "Let it burn" and move on to the next. Except, in this case, it ends, then repeats that last verse again:

I set fire to the rain

And I threw us into the flames

When we fell, something died

'Cause I knew that that was the last time

The last time

Let it burn

Let it burn

The problem is that the timecode already reads 00:00. So there's nothing left. There's nothing there. Except, there is.

Where are these songs coming from: I get my music from digitizing physical albums and purchasing online -- ironically, you might suspect that corruption of the file might be due to having a pirated version. But your assumption would be flawed as this "repeating" issue occurs to my song files at random. There doesn't seem to be a pattern as to which songs have this issue.

Solution: There is no permanent solution, currently. The way that I've remedied this issue so far is to delete the song from my itunes and itunes library folder, then re-add by either downloading the song again or ripping the song from the album again.

I doubt that it will or can be resolved, and I'm certain that Apple does not care. They are notorious for blaming their product and software set-backs on "customer error". I'm old enough to remember the era of "You're holding it wrong". -- Still, I wanted to leave this here for anyone else who might experience this issue as well, and feels like they are going crazy. You're not alone.

Well, I'm not sure this is an actual fix, but it seems to be a work around. At least for this one track I've tried so far. A little background: I've been having this issue with one particular track (Sweet About Me) where in iTunes (Music Version 1.0.3.) it said the track was, for example, 3:42 long and played fine. However, on my phone (8 iOSV13.3.1) the track showed a time of 3:52 and would play the last 10 seconds again. I did notice that when I had it "Show me in finder", there it said it had a track time of 3:52. I could not find my original disc (very frustrated by that) and I had migrated through an Ethernet cable everything from my old iMac to my new iMac August of 2019. I figured it glitched at that time. After wiping all music off my phone and re-syncing everything, and doing a bunch of the usual various other things you're always supposed to do to try to get things to work, I finally got ****** enough to delete the track and buy it from iTunes. However, I have just discovered another track doing something very similar. This time the track time is the same on iphone and in iMac music app. The music app just skips this last part, the iphone plays it. Again it is a track that I ripped from a long time ago in a much older version of iTunes (I think this is relevant). So what I noticed was that on some tracks when I had it "show in finder" it had this "Trim" feature (See picture below:) Some tracks (at least the ones I was having this problem with) did not have this feature. I think there was something added and it did not translate well to preexisting ripped tracks. So finally to my work around:

If you pull up the track info in the music app on the computer and go to options, it allows you to end playing at a certain time. I changed the stop time. I put it back onto my phone and it appears to be working. So far.

I have this problem too and I guess it might have something to do with a faulty song duration in iTunes/Music. I have a CD that I ripped years ago, it always played fine, but a few months ago the "repeating ends" problem started (maybe with the Catalina update). This happens on many of my ripped CD tracks, I think on mp3 files only, but I'm not sure about that.

From what I found out, iTunes has the song duration wrong. In iTunes/Music the duration ist 4:40, but if I open the file in an audio editor, it's only 3:56. Even the Finder's Information sheet says it's 3:56, only iTunes/Music thinks it's 4:40.

If that track is played in Music on the Mac, it jumps right from 3:56 to the end, but if I play the same song on iOS 13/iPadOS, it displays the duration as 3:56, but when 3:56 is reached, it jumps back and repeats the last 44 seconds of the song while the progress bar is stuck at 3:56, so the play time including the repeated ending is 4:40, exactly the time that's displayed in iTunes/Music on the Mac. @Apple: please look into it, it's really annoying.
