connecting apple airport express to google wifi

Hi! I used to run 4 apple expresses in my house and recently changed to googe wifi mesh.

I have setup the google wifi but couldnt add the airpot expresses back. I used airport utility and entered proper credentials but when i connect through the ethernet it would give back a " your enthernet doesnt have a valid IP" message.

Has anyone tried doing this? TIA

Will the AirPort Express devices connect to the Google network using permanent Ethernet cable connections?

If not, you would not use Ethernet at all to configure the Express(es) because the setup utility will assume that you are going to use Ethernet permanently (and not wireless) to connect.

If you need a few more tips on the setup of the Express(es), we need to know whether you are using a Mac, PC, or an iPhone / iPad to set things up since each device is different as far as AirPort Utility is concerned.

You need to tell us how you are trying to connect the Express.

Are you using it to join the google wifi? This is called client mode by apple.

Or are you plugging the Express into the Google wifi mesh units by ethernet. If that is the case they should have wireless off and work in bridge mode.

BTW you will find the airport utility in iPhone or ipad is preferred way to do this.
