Account Details could not be opened because of an error connecting to iCloud. Get this message when trying to connect to account details on my iMac. Cannot find an answer out there that works. I can access from my iPhone and iPad.

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?


Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.


To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...

Open System Preferences>Users & Groups, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.

Does it work in the new account?

Mine seems to be a user issue. I had the same issue as above, I contacted Support and they had me do both Safe Boot which the problem still occurred; "Verification Error" when trying to sign in to Apple from Preference screen. Also created a second user and did not receive error message during set up; allowed me to sign in. I was able to get emails, calendar appt & contacts. How can I fix the user issue?
