how to send a SMS (NOT iMessage) from macOS?

Sending a SMS from my MacBook is not working anymore although Text Message Forwarding is set on iPhone:

Allow these devices to SEND....text messages...

Is it not possible to send a SMS from macOS devices?

If it's not working, I suggest signing out of iMessage on all of your devices. Then, sign in on your phone. Wait until it has activated. Then, sign back in on your Mac. Then, go back to your phone and enable Text Message Forwarding.
