Purchased pioneer rayz rally for my iphone x but when connect says device not supported.

I have purchased a pioneer rayz rally for use with my iphone x but it says this accessory not supported by this device.

I installed the rayz app as suggested somewhere but it still does not work.

I purchased this through the apple store and iphone x is listed as compatible.

Instructions say just plug and play
