Thank you for your replies but I solved the problem by unplugging the headphones at the back of the Mac ... restarted the computer..and I could then see " built-in-output " appearing in the choices in "system preferences"
Plugged the headphones back and bingo🎸

You have Soundflower installed... was there any specific reason for that.
Go to the computer's System Preferences and set the Output to Built-In-Output, do not select Soundflower.
From the screenshot, it just looks like the volume is turn off. What happens if you move one of the sliders?

Hi
The sliders are greyed out .
Source digital I don't know how to change that?
Any ideas please
Great, glad to hear you're back up and running.
Your source says "digital out". A digital output should never have a volume control or it's not a true digital output. Set Logic's output in Logic's Preferences/Audio. Input-Output devices. Or set the Output correctly. I imagine it's soundflower that's messing things up.
Edit: Unless you have an external set of d/a converters or speakers that take a digital output you will heat nothing.
What computer are you using?
Is it possible that you have the audio out connected to a digital device and it automatically switches from analog to digital? Try to remove the connector from the output check and see if the AMS options are changing.
Just out of curiosity, what output did you selected in your "Multi-Output Device"?
Hope that helps

Well...... did you try any of the others? There's something to be said for experiementing.
Try Soundflower 2-ch
or Multi-output
Also, you should learn to use LOGIC's Preferences. Under Logic's Preferences/Audio you can choose the Input and Output device. It will probably be the same as these as apparently Soundflower takes over the audio system.
