How do I update my mac desktop safari I have version 10.1.2?

How do I update my mac desktop safari I have version 10.1.2? My Mac is rather old it is from around 2010. I did go to the app store and went to updates but did not tell me there was anything to update. I also do have my automatic update set.

Thank you.

Go to: Apple > About This Mac and look to see exactly which year model iMac you have.

see > Identify your iMac model - Apple Support

The Late 2009 and/or Mid 2010 iMac's both can run macOS High Sierra, which should get you Safari 13.

Personally I choose Not to upgrade to High Sierra from my 10.12.3 Sierra, because every time I do, Pages & other apps are less user friendly. But some web sites I go to say my Safari is too old & I can't get in.

I did find, but forgot to save, a page on Apple that had some later versions of Safari, compatible with my Sierra - but now I can't find them. I believe these updates went up to 10.14 or higher. So how do I get into these to update only the web function, without updating my OS?

Naw, it's just that you have an old copy already in Applications, there are 2 cures...

Disconnect from the Internet & set the Date back to 2014, then you can run the Install MacsOS High Sierra App in Applications, so expired Certificates are not expired.

Or... trash the Install MacsOS High Sierra.app in Applications then a new copy can be downloaded.
