iPhone 7 freezes

I am using iPhone 7 (ios 13.3.1).

My phone started developing this problem a year ago, it was mild and tolerable. However, recently it has become frustrating.

Occasionally, inserting an emoji in any text (a chatting app, on notes or anywhere) would cause the phone to completely freeze for a minute or so, causing the app in use to sometimes crash. It used to happen once every few days or sometimes not at all.

However, now, almost everytime I insert an emoji, the phone completely freezes. It stays like that for a minute or two and repeat. After a couple of freezes, it would crash whatever app in use. The more frustrating thing is, it causes some messages sent (on whatsapp for example) to get ghosted in the process.
