I need to create an encrypted cd/dvd without a password. I have a mid-2010 15 inch macbook pro.

The best way I can find is to create a secure disk image, then burn that image to a CD/DVD using the link in this article. Scroll down for to "Create a secure Disk image" heading.

You can not create an encrypted Volume without adding a password. The password is the missing item that keeps it locked -- otherwise it is not really encrypted at all, because anyone can access it.

You need a password/passphrase/key to be able to access an encrypted disk/drive/file.
