Please forgive me as I'm sure this is very simple and I'm no novice but I just cannot see a way to take a URL, create a hyperlink of it and paste it in a comments box of a Safari web page.
Please would someone help, thank you.

Here is one way to do it.
Finder > Applications > TextEdit
Open a new document.
Copy and paste the URL link.
It won't a clickable link.
Text Edit > Edit > Substitutions > Smart Links
Enable Smart Links.
Link will turn into a clickable hyperlink.
Copy and paste the link anywhere you want.

You are welcome. Would you post a link to a website where you are trying to do this so others can test?
Depending on the website, after pasting the link, if you control - click on the link, do you get a Make Link option?
