FMiP still showing as on for iPhone7

I have followed all steps here to turn Find My off on all of my devices, removed my old phone from iCloud, and wiped my old phone. However, when the IMEI is pulled up for my old phone it shows the FMiP as still being on?

Hi Macks_mrs,

Thanks for following up with the additional information.

Since you've disabled Find My iPhone, and no longer see your iPhone associated with your iCloud account, I suggest reaching out to Apple Support for assistance with your iPhone being marked as having Activation Lock enabled: Get Support

Kind regards.

Greetings Macks_mrs,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities! I understand you've turned off Find My iPhone, erased your device, and you're seeing Find My iPhone still turned on.

Do you see your iPhone when viewing Find My iPhone on iCloud.com? - Locate a device in Find My iPhone on iCloud.com - Apple Support

If you see your iPhone on iCloud.com, is it possible you didn't sign out of iCloud on your device? Check out the information in the following article: Turn off Activation Lock - Apple Support

"If you erased your own device

If you don't sign out of iCloud before you put your device in recovery mode and restore, it might remain in Activation Lock. That means you need to enter the same Apple ID and password that you used when you previously set up the device."

If further assistance is needed, it would be helpful to know where you're seeing Activation Lock enabled for your iPhone, and the steps you took to disable Find My iPhone.

Cheers.

Thanks for responding. I do not see my old phone when I log in to iCloud.com.

I did not log out of iCloud before wiping my phone. The steps I took are as follows:

Settings>Apple ID>Find My>Find My iPhone>switch to off

Then:

Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content and Settings

To explain further my old phone was with Verizon as the carrier. We recently switched to Sprint as a carrier. As part of that we turn in our old phones to Sprint for credit towards our new phones (iPhone 11). When Sprint pulls up the IMEI number for my old phone in their system, they are unable to process as it shows as the FMiP is still active on it.
