I need to make a video with a recording of me speaking over it

I’m a high school math teacher and I need to make a video with a recording of me speaking over it. Is this possible with the new iPad? I’m thinking “khan academy” ish if that gives you an idea.

You can use screen recording which is a built in feature on your iPad. Here is a link to the Apple guide for turning on screen recording https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207935

Tips:

  1. Make sure your in a quiet space when creating your video with voice as the microphone will pick up background noise.
  2. Keep each video short as research shows optimal length should be between 2-3 minutes

Screen recording, editing in iMovie if needed, or using Keynote and its audio recording, yes, you can use an iPad for content creation.

I would encourage acquiring a better microphone, though. The sound on the built-in is... okay, but not nearly as good as a quality mike. Audio Technica and Yeti and others have mikes available for use with a Mac and the ones of those I have used have worked well back as far as the old FireWire gear, and some Yeti mikes can reportedly also work with iPad. There are other USB mike vendors. Good audio makes a big difference.

iPad's will allow you to quickly create and edit a video in iMovie.

Depending on what you're trying to do. ie;

Tutorial showing students on screen what to do with your voice matching to the video footage.

Screen Record & record a voice memo simultaneously ( use headphones for best audio ) once finished import both files to iMovie and match your audio with the visuals you've screen recorded.

if you're unfamiliar with iMovie there are a plethora of videos on YouTube that'll quickly explain everything for you.

Tips;

Short Sweet & to the point ( Attention spans are very low in our current generation )

Record your audio in a quiet space

have enthusiasm in your voice don't be monotone.

You'll do great ! Good luck.

p.s just found a video on how to make a Khan Academy style video
