Upgrading to Catalina Starts New Monitor Error Message - "This monitor does not support HDR playback"
"This monitor does not support HDR playback"
New Error After Catalina Upgrade "This monitor does not support HDR playback"
On my MacBook Pro, I am playing a movie off of TV. When I drag the movie over to the projector, I get an error. This was not happening with Mojave on this MacBook Pro. Downgrading to Mojave, there is no longer this error. Play an SD movie (Not High Definition), and it plays fine on the projector.
Why am I Getting this Error on my Mac?
The item successfully plays on my MacBook Pro in standalone (when the projector is not powered on. My MacBook Pro's screen is High Definition. So, why does it give me this error when I power on the projector? Quitting TV, and then reopening TV, it is fully playable. It's just power on the projector, it pops up once more, and I have to quit TV to get it to play.
Interestingly, It Plays Just Fine on a Virtual Machine.
Dragging the Windows 10 Virtual Machine window over to the projector, I get no error. All is playable on it. Of course, I am using iTunes -- not TV --- on Windows.
The Error Message:
MacBook Pro 15”, macOS 10.15
