Fraudulent purchase

Apple sent an email yesterday letting me know of a purchase I didn’t make. How can I get a refund and secure my account

That is not from Apple. It is a phishing scam. Do not respond to it.

If the only indication of charges is from an email or text, be aware that it may be a phishing attempt to get you to log in to a site that appears to be Apple and divulge your password or credit card information. and Identify legitimate emails from the App Store or iTunes Store - Apple Support

It was a scam.

 

Did you provide any potentially damaging information to anyone? If yes, you'll need to follow up, for example, with a credit card company, Apple, your bank, etc.

Apple will always address you by your name or the name they have on file for you, not Dear Customer, Dear Client or by using your e-mail address. The e-mail will be from @apple.com or @iTunes.com. E-mail addresses can be spoofed. You can go to Mail/View/Message/Show all Headers to see more. Apple e-mails will never contain an attachment. Apple will never request personal information by email such as Social Security numbers, your Mother’s maiden name or full credit card numbers .

I was going crazy and before I asked Apple I was worried about getting locked out and I only keep my card information ℹ️ for payment on my phone bill . I filled in the information that asked me for my ssn weird I don’t remember apple ever asking for it but I ended up with a PayPal, app purchase, a Youtube channel and a google business account Apple was great told me they did not see anything but they eventually did I was refunded some $ but they took down my personal accounts should have been the others! so I am still working on it going to the store and changing everything I keep changing pw reset id and pa but every morning something new so I also change my payment ℹ️ 🍎 I need to be better educated with this phone and what I open and answer, I will never get phished or fall for any scams will not do anything on my own!!!
