I only have 4,000 photos - but my photos take up 14g of Data?
On my phone I only have 4,000 photos and 115 in recently deleted. But it says photos takes up 14g of data on my phone!

Settings/Photos - Optimize. As your phone needs space the photo kept on the phone is compressed at lower resolution, while the original is synced to iCloud at full resolution.

That’s about right. Each photo takes 3-4 MB after JPG compression. 4,000 photos at .004 GB each is 16 GB. At 3 MB each is 12 GB.

Physical-Size and Resolution:
That is a bit mind-boggling. But, were they from a different device? If so, they would have had to be either smaller in physical-size, and/or be much, much lower in resolution.
Did you have Optimize enabled when you had 9,000 photos? On what model phone?
The only thing is I had over 9,000 photos at one point and they didn’t take up this much space - I just confused.
I have a 7 + what’s optimize?
