Mojave 10.14

I am attempting to download and install Mojave on my computer and each time I am directed to the Mojave page in the App store, but when I click to open it (apparently my computer thinks I downloaded it already) the installer that opens is for Catalina. Can someone direct me to the a link that actually works rather than to the App Store (or fix the link on the App Store). I'm sure I should be able to download Mojave because High Sierra is still available to download.

iMac 27", OS X 10.11

Thanks for your help. I have followed all your advice and have redownloaded the installer app but am now getting a "The recovery server could not be contacted" error. My current OS is 10.11.6 in case that matters.

In Finder > Applications and Downloads, do you see macOS Mojave and/or Catalina? If so, you will want to delete them and empty the Trash bin.

Then, click on Get macOS Mojave and it should now allow you to start the download. Your Mac also needs at least 2GB of memory and 12.5GB of available storage space, or up to 18.5GB of storage space when upgrading from OS X Yosemite or earlier.

If macOS Mojave is not showing in Finder and/or you've deleted then I would try updating in Safe Mode.

Safe mode is a way to start up your Mac so that it performs certain checks and prevents some software from automatically loading or opening.

Not sure which year your iMac is but macOS Mojave does require 2012 or later models.

Do you say what is your current macOS— OS X 10.11 ?

Very the Installer is not already in your Applications folder "Install macOS Mojave.app"

You can click it open to launch it like any other app

Open your Applications folder and look for Install macOS Mojave.app, move it to the Trash. Empty the Trash.

Connect your mac to your router via cable rather than rely on WiFi. Restart your mac and open the App Store and go back to the Mojave download page. The full installer is only available via the App Store. The page should now say Get, click on Get to start the download. Do not use the mac while it is downloading, or any other devices that share the same internet connection.

Make a full back up of your mac before installing Mojave.

Check that third party apps you use have updates available for the new OS.

Check that your printers/ scanners etc have updated drivers and software available for the new OS.
