Hi, I have an iPhone 3G running 4.0.1. Since getting this update I have a big black block in my camera roll, covering some images, 5 to be exact. It's hard to explain, it's just a black block covering most of the 5 images, like a glitch looking thing. I've taken photos, deleted photos and synced the phone and it's still there. Anyone heard or got this??
Today I used my iphone 4 camera. Later in the day I went to my photos to look at a picture and it suddenly went black. I flicked through a few pictures and some, not all, also showed a picture then turned black. I came home and restored my iphone. Hopefully this won't happen again, but if it does I will be contacting apple.
oh, and i would suggest, after doing the fix and restoring your iphoto library on your phone, to then immediately backup your iphone in itunes. that way if you ever have this problem again, you can just restore from a more recent backup.
1.) connect your iphone using the usb cable
2.) launch iphone explorer
3.) backup and then delete the following files:
/DCIM/.MISC/Info.plist
/PhotoData/Photos.sqlite
/PhotoData/PhotosAux.sqlite
4.) reboot your iphone
AWESOME ! thank you - this worked ! I can see my camera roll again. I think I still love the new iphone- I guess some bugs are to be expected but what if I hadnt found this post ! Apple ! *** !
