Managing shared devices

We have LOTS of devices that all share an apple id. We recently upgraded our phones but our old phones are associated in iTunes and says we have a few remaining days to delink them. I have read that you can remove at any time - but when I go in to manage my devices, the "remove" spot isn't highlighted and won't let me get rid of them. So consequently, we cannot link our current devices with our apple music, etc. How do I get around this? Thanks!

Hello danlatimer,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It's my understanding that you're prompted to wait for a period of time when trying to remove managed devices from an Apple ID. I can see how this could be concerning. You will have to wait the remaining days before you can associate these devices with another Apple ID.

"When you try to associate another device that was previously associated, you might see a message that says, "This device is associated with another Apple ID. You cannot associate this device with another Apple ID for [number] days." Depending on when you associated your device with your Apple ID, you might need to wait up to 90 days to associate the device with another Apple ID."

Have a nice day!
