Someone else uses my phone number to call FaceTime and text iMessage to another phone

Hello,

I share with the phone line with a family. One day my friend told me that she received my FaceTime callings twice. I said to her that I did not call. Then, couple days a ago, my friend made a FaceTime call and someone else answered the call, but my friend ended. Yesterday, my friend received a message from that person. She sent me a screenshot, and I recognized that that is my name. But I totally sent to my friend that message. I just change my Apple count password this morning. Why does it happen in my iPhone? How can I solve it? my phone number is shared with a family, T-mobile, but I do not think that this family uses it my phone number. Thanks. I am looking forward to hearing from you

Hi, toan272,

Thanks fro visiting the Apple Support Communities. If I understand, your friend mentioned that they received a FaceTime call from you twice when you did not call. Then, your friend tried to call you on FaceTime and someone else answered. In addition, it appears that person is sending your friend messages that show up from you. I'm happy to help!

From what you've described, it sounds as though either your phone number is associated with someone else's Apple ID, or vice versa. This could have occurred if you've ever purchased a used device or given a device to someone else to use, or signed into your Apple ID on someone else's phone temporarily.

The steps in Add or remove your phone number in Messages or FaceTime - Apple Support should help you determine what phone numbers are tied to your Apple ID, and how to remove ones you do not want or need.

Cheers.

Thanks for following up, toan272,

The only way for someone else to be contacted when a friend attempts to contact you is if you share an Apple ID or a phone number, or have somehow associated your phone number with someone else's Apple ID or vice versa. If you haven't shared any devices directly but got a new phone number when you got your new iPhone, it's possible the previous user of that phone number did not remove the number from their iMessage and FaceTime.

Regardless of how it occurred initially, the first step is to utilize Add or remove your phone number in Messages or FaceTime - Apple Support to make sure your phone number is the only number associated with your Apple ID.
