Bad quality iPhone 11 camera

I had an iPhone 6s up until 5 days ago, thinking I’d “upgrade” to the iPhone 11 for the camera to use for my social media photography, my girlfriend has an iPhone 8 and her camera impressed me, so I thought the 11 would be just as good and even better.

Now ask me how disappointed I am? The images are not clear, parts of it are splotchy with blur, there seems to be this “beauty” effect and everything looks smooth and edited. I really do hope this is repairable through software updates because I’m regretting my purchase at the moment.

I’ve had similar issues with my iPhone 11 camera (front and back). Like you were saying, I’ve experienced graininess, off colors, and smoothed out (looks like a beauty filter got applied) pictures especially in the front facing camera. Not to mention, the ultra wide angle back facing camera is terrible looking in anything other than bright outdoor sunlight. I had an iPhone 7 Plus previously and looking back at the pictures they are definitely more detailed and have less noise. I’m Hoping that most of these things are software issues. However I’m not that hopeful given that nothing has changed with multiple updates applied to my iPhone 11. People have been complaining about similar issues since the XR/XS came out way back in 2018. This might just be the way Apple continues from here on out with their camera sensors and software combo. Best of luck!
