Delivery delays COVID-19

Hi guys,

I recently ordered a Macbook Air and headphones on the 16th of March.

The headphones have been processed and shipped but the Macbook Air hasn't even been processed yet. The original estimated delivery date was 24th/25th. The original date has now been pushed back 6-7 days. I understand that in the current climate delays are to be expected however I need the Macbook for work and uni so I was wondering if anyone knows how long shipping is actually taking at the moment?

Also for clarity, I am located in Sydney.

Thanks!

MacBook

How did you receive help from customer service at Apple? I tried the virtual "chat" and was told this was a FEDEX issue, not an Apple support issue.

I placed an order on 5/1/2020. It is showing a status of Label Created, Delivery Pending. travel history from Lebanon, TN. I guess that means it is located in the USA? TN is only a few hours from me. I am not sure why it is delayed. I can't get anyone on the phone at FEDEX.

Just another update, I previously had a MacBook Air from 2016 I think (It still had the usb port) and there was nothing wrong with it, I updated so my Mum could have it and honestly now I have this years Macbook Air I want to swap her. The new Macbook has nothing on the old one?! It is slower and I only use it for basic programs and tiny downloads.

If you close the lid and wait a few minutes and open it again it doesnt require you to put in a password 85% of the time? Which is a serious security concern. The camera quality is terrible - I only use it for zoom for uni but its really bad on messenger and skype too. It glitches, and will just freeze if I try and do too many things at once - I'm talking 6 tabs of articles, word and spotify. For the price I really think you could get something better. I went with the new model because I assumed it would be better than my 2016 macbook and it really isn't.

Update: I have my MacBook, got it around 11AM my time when FedEx said it wasn't supposed to come until the end of the day so pretty excited about that. So far, I have not experienced any excessive fan noise or overheating, in fact I don't hear any fan noise at all. I've been consistently using this for the last 3 hours transferring stuff and setting everything up and like I said, no heating issue at all. This is also faster than my last laptop and finished downloads faster than expected (using Safari for reference). I have noticed that the battery has held up pretty well considering the fact that I have been downloading pictures and videos from Google Drive and on top of that, listening to Spotify and downloading apps from the Store. So far, I am LOVING this and I'm so glad I switched over (using the base model i3 processor for reference).

Hello, I ordered the exact same thing 3 days ago, after reading some peoples’ issues with their deliveries I’m not expecting it to be delivered before couple weeks.

Just wondering how long did it take them to deliver your MacBook just to know approximately how long it will take them to deliver mine.

If you can mention your country I would be thankful, I am in Canada.

Ordered a macbook air and airpods. Macbook is still processing after a week, but I expected that because estimated delivery is 2-3 weeks. Airpods were supposed to be here this morning (07/1) but were delayed till Friday (07/3). I think they will be delayed again considering they have not moved from Shanghai in 3 days and I am in America. Anyone else recently ordered and having this problem?

Side note: my sister ordered the same thing a few days later and her orders have an early expected delivery date than mine. I will say her shipping is UPS and mine is FedEx. Maybe that could be a factor?

kacey-anna! My mom just bought be the newest MacBook Air and 2 iMacs and 2 AirPods for our family. I'm in Iowa, and my family is in the hotspot of the state. We check when it will be here, it said it (MacBook) won't be here until the 14 of July. I'm that kind of person who can't wait and I will keep asking my mom when it will be here. So for me now it comes in 9 days. And we don't know how long the iMacs and the AirPods will come. We just have to wait.

I just want my own chance to cry here....

I have waited years to afford buying a high performance computer to start a career I can start immediately with the equipment and all that has held me back was funding.

Finally, I get a once-ever opportunity to have those funds and then....I have to wait two and a half months to receive it 😭😭😭😭😭😭

Order placed July 6th, estimated delivery is September 9-19th. I am trying to avoid these very strong feelings of being eager in the age of convenience

I just feel like venting I guess; since I know nothing can be done. Hopefully Apple inc reads these comments. Please use DHL when delivering goods. I've gotten something from England in 2 days using DHL during the pandemic, and my Ipad pro, since its been shipped is taking a week and a half almost two weeks with the 2 day delay. Why is it taking so long? Idk if it's cause it's coming from China and everything from China is delayed during this pandemic or if its UPS cause UPS usually sucks. I really wish there were some in the store that I could've ordered. And it wasn't until I placed my order that I saw on Best Buy that they had Ipads. How can a 3rd party seller have Apple products and Apple themselves don't. Ugh.

End of my rant.
