ask to buy

Has anyone figured out a way to fix ask to buy? My app requests are still not going through, and whenever I ask to request an app, the "approve in person" never pops up above all of the apps. I need help asap, thanks.

Hello c_652 and welcome to Apple Support Communities.

I see you are facing some difficulty with Ask To Buy requests not being received by the Organizer of your family group.

Try these steps:

    • Make sure that the "Do Not Disturb" setting is not active on the Organizer's device(s).

    • Have the Organizer change the device name to something different (e.g. add a number) on their device(s). On an iOS device, this is done at Settings General > About > Name. On a Mac, you'll find it at System Preferences > Sharing > Computer Name.

    • Have the Organizer sign out and back in to their account within their iTunes & App Store settings. On an iOS device, that is at Settings > [your name] > iTunes & App Stores. On a Mac, it's at System Preferences > iCloud > Media & Purchases > Account > Manage. Note before taking this step that if there is an active Apple Music membership involved and there is music downloaded to the device for offline play, that signing out will remove that content from the device. It would have to be downloaded anew after signing back in.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, reach out to Apple Support directly for additional options.
