Rather than hijack somebody else's question, which is impolite, you should really post your own question where the subject does directly related to the original post.

You can update an iPad in one of two ways. Your can either update directly from Settings (selecting Settings > General > Software Update) - or connect your iPad to your PC and use iTunes to perform the update. However, the original iPad mini cannot be updated beyond iOS 9.3.5/6 - this being the final supported version for this iPad.

If you have a an iPad4, then update from iOS6 to iOS 10.3.4 should be possible.

Previous models of iPad, with iOS6 installed, cannot be updated to iOS10; iPad2 and iPad3 can only be updated to iOS 9.3.5/6.

At this time in 2020, updating your iPad from iOS 6 to iOS 9.3.5 or iOS 10 is not going to help your old iPad, at this late date!

These old iPad 2, 3, 4 and 1st gen iPad Mini models are nearing 8 and 9-years old, now.

As of the beginning of 2019, many, MANY third party app developers are all more quickly and completely dropping older app support for all old 7, 8 and 9-year iPads that are running 2-3 year old and earlier iOS versions ( iOS 10 and earlier ).

Third party app developers are removing all of their older, legacy versions of their apps from Apple's App Store servers, now.

Older versions of apps are going to be gone for good, now!

If your device is running 6, I’m not sure if you can update to iOS10, it will depend on the model of your device.
