New Magic Mouse Tracking Problems.

My new Magic Mouse does not track constantly (not so "magic"). It seems I am constantly having to pick up the mouse when it gets stuck on screen even tho I am still moving it and help it get it's bearings again. It's very annoying. I have tried using various different types of mouse pads. I am a long time computer user with both Macs and PC's.

I just want my Magic Mouse to be an extension of my self and go where I tell it to go(?)

Could this possibly be something actually wrong with the device and I need to return/exchange it?

It acts like it's drunk all the time.
