transfer office 2008 between iMac's

I just got an iMac 2019 13", and I transfer my files from my older iMac 13" and the Office 2008 edition didn't transfer over. I have tried to update in my apps but nothing happens, except the option to buy Microsoft Office 365. When I go to that, it shows that it s already purchased (near the download button). When I try to open it up, it says I need to 'Get started with Microsoft 365' I then can't restore my previous purchase.

Any thoughts?

You would have bought Office 2008 from Microsoft. You should seek out MS Support for assistance with your issue.

The current versions of the Office apps in the App Store are free to download, but they require an Office 356 subscription to use them.
