Port Forwarding on Apple Airport Extreme

Hello. Over the past few weeks, I have been attempting to host a web server on my Raspberry Pi 3B. I got everything set up, and I can access the site from my internet connection, but I cannot figure out how to set up the port forwarding to make it public. Can anybody suggest m an answer to this question?

Hmm. All this should do is install a few DNS "tools" (traceroute, nslookup, etc.). It does not change any settings which would cause your RPi to not be assessable, including disabling the SSH server. Sorry, but not sure what to recommend at this point other than try rebooting or powering cycling it. If neither works, then re-flashing the SD card. Note: This is where I have copies of pre-configured my RPi systems as these card are noted for failing or becoming corrupted.

I go to my phone, and turn off the Wi-Fi, therefore only being connected to the internet through my cellular data. Then, I type in the domain that I have connected to the RPi. I know that there is not a problem with the domain, because on my network, I can access the RPi's website through the domain.

The fact that you can access the RPi's web server via a domain name, from your local network, verifies that your local DNS service is resolving the domain name to the local IP address of the RPi.

Please open a Terminal session on your Mac. Then enter the following command and post the results of the first 3-4 lines: traceroute www.apple.com

Thanks. I wanted to verify that your network is not in a "Double NAT" condition. Line 1 would be the LAN-side IP address of your AirPort Extreme. Line 2 and then on would be the routers between your base station and the Apple servers. Since Line 2 is a public IP address, and not another private one, we know that is not the issue that would be preventing remote access to your network.

You can also verify your WAN-side (public) IP address by using this website: www.findmyip.org

Note: Do not post it, but is should NOT start with either 192, 172, or 10. If it does, then it will be an issue with your ISP that will need to be resolved.
