Apple TV 3 starts in home sharing

I have an Apple TV 3 which randomly freezes then when it restarts it only comes up with the home sharing and settings option.

wifi is fine and I did a complete factory reset earlier. Problem still present, I’ve read a previous post from years ago with the same problem but they only give short term fixes.

I have another Apple TV 3 and an Apple TV 4, both are fine and unaffected.

help!
