Waves Plugin Editor/Parameter Controls Not displaying in Effects Editor?

Hi,

I'm running the last version of Mojave w/ Final Cut Pro X 10.4.8. (I have an older 2014 Macbook Pro and have been reticent to update to Mojave from High Sierra.) I have Waves plugins that all validate and work in Logic Pro X and show up in Final Cut Pro X.

I can assign the Waves plugin/effect to a clip in a project as I have many times in the past before updating to Mojave.

BUT! when I click on the parameter controls to try to bring the plugin up in the parameter editor nothing happens. All my Logic plugins work. All my other Audio Unit plugins work and display.

WORSE! Sometimes I click to bring up the editor and I get the spinning beach ball of death and the application stops responding.

I've updated Waves Central and supposedly have recent versions of waves central and the plugins I'm trying to use.

Frustrating. Anyone have this experience? I usually do my audio post in Logic, but in some cases where I have good audio on my video tracks I use the audio plugins...
