Sometimes when someone video calls me on WhatsApp I can see the other person but the screen where I can see myself turns all black even though I am in a proper lit room and even other person can’t see. Then I have to cut the call and call the person back. I am using new iPhone 11.

I am also running in to this problem when someone video calls me. I only have a black screen. I try to disable/enable video, but nothing turns on. It looks like the video is on but it is showing only a black screen. When I video call them back, my video shows just fine.

same issue on my end as well. please help! this started maybe a month or so ago for me, just got a new battery and that that would solve the problem, but it hasnt. It worked fine when I call back...

There might be a solution, but it has to come from WhatsApp as they have total control over the app and its bugs. And it has many.
Same thing happens to me. Have checked all my permissions and privacy settings and they seem OK but I always have to call the person back so that they can see me.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it works fine now. Note: make sure you have it backed up to the cloud before you delete it you’ll loose everything (like I did doh)
After checking camera, etc etc etc, I just tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but the problem remains.

Similar stuff but the front camera recognizes my face but in all apps where I can see my selfie camera it the screen turned black

The response from Axel F has no effect. The black screen persists. 332 people are suffering with this problem.
