Didn't get a response from the Apple Software Update server. Make sure you're connected to the Internet, and then try again.

I'm unable to install an update. I get the error message "Didn't get a response from the Apple Software Update server. Make sure you're connected to the Internet, and then try again."

It is trying to install Security Update 2020-002 10.14.6 and Safari 13.1. This is a iMac (21.5-inch, 2017) iMac18,1.

I just tried restarting the computer and it is now trying to upgrade to macOS Catalina 10.15.4. I get the same error message.

This message usually means that internet connections or servers are overwhelmed and too slow. With millions of people cooked up at home these days, that’s not unexpected...

All you can do is what the message says: try again later.

If you want to make sure the issue isn’t at your end, restart your device and WiFi router.
