Slight gap between Apple watch screen and case

I have an apple watch series 3 42mm GPS (Space Grey). There is a slight gap between the bottom of the screen and case of the watch. The gap is large enough to slip a piece of paper through it. This doesn't affect the usage or looks of the watch, I'm just concerned if it will still be dust and waterproof - for the long term. I really hope this isn't an issue as i don't want to have to bother to go to an apple store and such like. I'm really OCD about my stuff so it could just be me noticing it more.

Please can anybody out there help me?

I can understand why you'd reach out about this; I'd like to point you in the right direction.
