Terminal

Hi,

I'm in terminal on an old home Mac computer my family has forgot the passwords. Im in terminal and its asking what "terminal type?" .

This is a 2006 ish

1.5 ghz

Since you've deleted the ".AppleSetupDone" file you just need to reboot the system to have Setup Assistant create a new admin account for you where you should be able to manage your other users.


To get out of the current "Terminal type?" bit, just press Control + C to quit the "resetpassword" command. Then issue the command to reboot the computer:

shutdown  -r  now


reboot

may also work.
