Hi, I have an odd situation. I am trying to update my AW2. I have updated iPhone to iOS 13.4 and my AW2 runs the latest previous watchOS. The update downloads but fails to install. The process fails during Verification. I tried rebooting both iPhone X and AW2. I deleted the update and redownloaded it again. No use. It still fails. Does anyone have the same issue?
Thanks andy90e... this worked for me. I had tried everything (restart phone, watch... even un-pair, wipe watch, re-pair, etc.).
In the end, I turned off Bluetooth and WiFi on my phone, then went into the watch and selected update. It took a while for it to download and verify the update but it did install.
FWIW, when I re-connected the phone to the watch via bluetooth it threw an error saying the update didn't work... but it did. I think that was a replica of the phone being confused since it couldn't see the watch and had been trying to update.
Did you have the watch on charger or out of it? its been "verifying" forever now....

Same problem. Apple Watch Series 2, iPhone 11 on latest iOS. I get the same error regardless of whether I attempt the install from the phone or directly from the watch. I even tried freeing up space on the watch since it was close to full. No luck.
I have tried all the above and watchOS 6.2 will still not install on AW2. To be clear I have tried:
soft reboot of both
hard reboot of both
install from phone and watch
all fail at verification stage.
i have never had this problem with any other install before.
what is left to try?
I am having the same issue. I got to the verification screen, it went through that just fine. Then I got to the downloading screen and get “unable to update Apple Watch” message. I have been trying this for weeks to get this to update. I even unpaired and re-paired my Apple Watch and still have this same issue. Can someone please help me get this resolved? It’s starting to **** me off!!!!!!
Okay so I think it worked. It’s stuck on the Apple symbol now. So if an update doesn’t work using an iPhone I need to do it through the watch instead? Is this good practice every time this happens when I can’t update using the app on my iPhone?
Try the update from the watch itself,I did this and had no problems whatsoever,just make sure the watch is on the charger and has at least 50% charge and make sure bluetooth and wifi are both turned on.
I have the same issue. In addition to ts steps performed by vkodryan, I've also tried to unpair/pair my Apple Watch but issue still persists.

I have the same problem. Updating from the Watch itself also doesn't work.
I confirm I completed watchOS 6.2 update from the watch itself. The update was downloaded from the watch app on iPhone X. Gosh! These bugs are never going to be gone completely.
That worked! It took a 2nd try but it finally installed.
TBH, I didn’t know you could run Software Update from the watch itself. Nice find!
