Hi, I have an odd situation. I am trying to update my AW2. I have updated iPhone to iOS 13.4 and my AW2 runs the latest previous watchOS. The update downloads but fails to install. The process fails during Verification. I tried rebooting both iPhone X and AW2. I deleted the update and redownloaded it again. No use. It still fails. Does anyone have the same issue?
Try the update from the watch itself,I did this and had no problems whatsoever,just make sure the watch is on the charger and has at least 50% charge and make sure bluetooth and wifi are both turned on.
Yes on the charger, with a minimum of 50%. If it’s been verifying for a long time. Reboot it all. Switch Bluetooth and WiFi off on your phone, WiFi on for the watch. Then complete the software update from the watch. People have had a lot of success with this process.

Started the update from the watch, I then powered off my iphone too, just to ensure there was no connection with the watch. The watch downloaded & installed fine, while it rebooted I powered back the phone and everything was good. It needed that disconnection between watch & iphone to verify & install.
I am having the same issue. I got to the verification screen, it went through that just fine. Then I got to the downloading screen and get “unable to update Apple Watch” message. I have been trying this for weeks to get this to update. I even unpaired and re-paired my Apple Watch and still have this same issue. Can someone please help me get this resolved? It’s starting to **** me off!!!!!!
Okay so I think it worked. It’s stuck on the Apple symbol now. So if an update doesn’t work using an iPhone I need to do it through the watch instead? Is this good practice every time this happens when I can’t update using the app on my iPhone?
I had a similar problem. After checking the phone software update, I realized I wasn’t using the current update. After updating the phone, I started the process. It went smoothly after that. On another watch, I had to start the install on the watch rather than on the phone. Try those, you may be successful. Good luck.
The watch takes quite a while to reboot, so don’t worry about it sitting on the logo screen for a few minutes. Seems that launching any update directly from the watch, rather than the phone, results in a more robust attempt at updating. It’s never been a problem for me before the last 2 weeks, but hey ho - it worked!
Wake up the watch before hitting install, make sure it's unlocked and have the software update open. (Settings > General > Software Update) When it starts verifying, it asks you to enter your passcode. If the watch is locked, for some reason, it won't ask you to enter the passcode. A screen will come up asking if you want to proceed with the update. Hit "Proceed." That's what finally worked for me and that was after 4 hours of fighting with the thing and trying every other remedy (restart the devices, delete the update, refresh the wifi settings, blah blah blah). I hope it works for you this time!
Have you tried to launch the update straight from the Watch (from inside its settings) ?
As said just above, have you checked if it works by updating from the Watch instead of doing it from the iPhone ?

Exactly same issue , wherever I try to install it From either from my watch or from iPhone it fails with same error. Nothing helps. Apple Watch series 2
