Airpods Pro Disconnecting from Zoom

I am finding that my Airpods Pro disconnect from my MacBook Pro when I try to change the audio over to them during a Zoom meeting.

Thank you.

I have a 13" MacBook Pro 2015, running MacOS 10.15.4, Zoom running 5.0. The issue was present on at least some earlier versions of both MacOS and Zoom.

To add some further detail, I have found that the AirPod Pros disconnect pretty consistently after 10 minutes of using them in a Zoom meeting. As an annoying workaround, I kept swapping which AirPod I was using: when the left airpod disconnects, I then swap in the right one. The right one will then work for about 10 minutes before disconnecting, so back to the left airpod. And so on. (The AirPods were fully charged at the beginning of the meeting, so I don't think it was a battery issue.) I've done the swapping for a two hour meeting.

Every tenth disconnection or so, the Zoom app will say something like "there is an audio issue, you must restart Zoom."

Same here - at least similar.

In my case, new Airpod pro's. Connect to Macbook Pro (2019 13" Macbook Pro, Catalina 10.15.3) fine. Join a Zoom meeting with Airpods as default audio for mic/speaker. Works fine for 10-15 minutes. Then frequently disconnects. I check the Bluetooth menu and Airpods are still paired to the MacBook Pro. But, the Zoom drop-down for audio sources no longer lists the Airpod Pro's. I disconnect and re-connect Airpods from Macbook using the Bluetooth task bar menu. Then it works in Zoom for awhile. Then it drops. Once it drops the first time, seems to drop every 3-5 minutes. Frustrating!
