Mail, unclear bottom padding

2. Delete the Mail app: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208094

4. Download the Mail app through the App Store: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208094
5. Go to Settings > Passwords & Accounts, and re-enable Mail on each account you use Mail app with.
6. Check if issue persists. If yes, restore the device to factory settings using Mac or PC: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201252
7. Restore your backup: https://support.apple.com/en-ie/HT204184

Force close Mail app. What happens if you go to Settings>Mail>Preview.... and choose 2 lines, instead of one?

(when done, restart your device and test it).

The problem is that I'm not able to replicate your issue.

But I would insist trying to change the options in Settings>Mail... restarting your device after each attempt.

I must be missing something because nothing looks wrong to me. What do you mean by “padding”?

Perhaps th OP is talking about the black space at the bottom

The only black space that I see is the tool bar from the screen recording. Here is a screenshot that I took.
