Black blurred spot at the bottom of XR screen

I got some water in my iPhone XR and now there is a blurry black spot on my screen where the lightning port is. Everything still works but sometimes my screen will flicker very faintly. Will the spot become larger if i leave it unfixed? Do I have to repair my phone or will it be okay? Edit : The screen is white so the spot would be more visible

How long this iPhone might linger is unknown, and unknowable.

This iPhone is shot, between the reported water damage and the apparently-cracked display.

I’d encourage getting and keeping a current backup, as that may well become impossible.

But this iPhone is seemingly quickly headed for replacement, so best start planning for that.
