Apple TV authorisation code

Is this when you are signing in with your Apple ID?

When you have entered your Apple ID and then it requires a password you type the 6 digit code with the password at the same time.

Eg. Apple ID = yourAppleID

Password = yourpassword123456

This works once, if you need to do it again a new 6 digit code will likely be sent, I'm sure it is good for only a minute or two.

123456 = the code received on your iPhone iPad...

I’ve got this same problem, but I’ve got a SharpRoku TV and it won’t allow me to access AppleTV unless I enter the code and I’ve been to 3 different Apple support sites and can’t find an answer either.
