AppleCare+ Coverage

So I recently had a screen incident. I have no idea how it happened but some of the bottom of my screen chipped off. I attached a picture. Is this covered by my AppleCare+ or will there be a fee to fix it? It looks so minimal but it is bothering me that it looks broken. Has anyone ever had this happen before?

Here is some info - general first:

https://www.apple.com/shop/product/S6033LL/A/applecare-plus-for-13-inch-macbook-pro?fnode=1a5f99204503df67bb8d98105a1018fb336a387adfec4d7eca4dd5f60c7e6d074f13a58aaf4b91f333c11a6a4130fe22f6709fcb2418022feb2a0920d39bb6ce37da41a04242cd12e4387e4eb295bb6fd18cab54346514da44cab61a1c002b19

And, the actual terms/coverage/prices:

From your picture, I do not know if Apple would consider that to be still part of the screen or not, so you may have an either $99 or $299 repair cost.

Contact Apple support and start a ticket since you are not able to take it to any Genius Bar at the moment - unless you want to wait. If you start now, the choice will most likely be limited to sending it in for a repair.

So, do you have Applecare+ coverage? Applecare+ has only been offered for about 2 years and it does include accidental damage; you pay a service fee/copay. You purchase it within 60 days and it is good for 3 years. If your device is older, then you might have purchased Applecare (the previous version) - that did NOT include accidental damage.
