Hi All, I have a MacBook Air 2014, i did not do the upgrades from a long time. So I have still OS X 10.9.5. HOw could I upgrade to the latest version? or which version of i os would run on my device? thank you

Do note that Catalina does not run 32 bit Apps, so any older apps not updated to 64 bit you are currently using on 10.9.5 Mavericks will not work on Catalina.
The Catalina installer will show you a list of incompatible apps before you update so you can verify what will not work.

Which version of what?
There is only one version of macOS Catalina.
If you mean should you update to something other than Catalina, if you want to keep compatibility with your 32 bit apps, try High Sierra or Mojave instead.

I did see your first message. I suggested you update to Catalina and provided a link with instructions.
Your second question about "what version" is what was a bit confusing. Which is why I provided links to instructions on how to install other versions of macOS on your MacBook Air.
