Connection Synology NAS through Finder fails after Catalina update
Hi! Hope someone can help, this drives me crazy. I'm running Synology NAS in my LAN which, before Catalina update, I could approach and use through Finder without any problem. After the original update to Catalina (yes I have the problem already for a while) the connection with the NAS in Finder is broken. Finder shows the NAS name (like DS218 in my case) under the network tab, however clicking to open and see the folders does not work anymore.
The error message is "connection failed".
If I manually add the NAS with "Connect to server" and IP address it works, but doing this after every restart makes me crazy. Surprisingly there is also a Windows machine in the LAN which does not have this issue.
What I tried:
- All combinations of AFP, SMB, Bonjour etc. all these settings and combinations I have already tried extensively.
- The manual "connect to server" including storage of the right IP address and protocol does not help either. After each restart the whole thing is gone again.
- In Finder the tab Location shows the NAS name
- In Finder the NAS name also pops up under Locations, so it sees the NAS definitely.
Noticeable:
- My MacMini and 2 MacBooks show the same problem
- The Windows machine does not have this issue
- My iOS devices have no issue to find and open the NAS
Is there anyone that can help me please?
