After 13.4 update, Apple weather app no longer rotates

I just updated to iOS 13.4. All apps rotate into landscape mode when I want them to but the Apple weather app will no longer rotate into landscape mode.

I tried turning off the phone and also performing a hard reset and force closing the Apple weather app but the problem persists.

Some apps don't support rotation, so your screen might not rotate even if Portrait Orientation Lock isn't turned on.

Rotate the screen on an iPhone without a Home button

  1. Swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen to open Control Center.
  2. Tap the Portrait Orientation Lock button  to make sure that it's off.
  3. Turn your iPhone sideways.

If the screen still doesn't rotate, try a different app — like Safari or Messages — which are known to work in landscape mode.

I don't think Im alone when I say this has been a sad path that Apple Apps have been slowly following. After making a big deal when the iPhone was released about how all apps should be coded to support both portrait and landscape mode this would be one of the few changes that I can't understand a reason for.

I use my iPhone and iPad only in Landscape mode. I have no desire or want to use it in portrait mode. I do not want to use apps that only support portrait. The App Store app was a huge disappointment, and I am forced to use it is an essential part of the infrastructure. When Mail on the iPhone changed so it no longer supported frames in displaying a mail and mailbox, I stopped using it. And now the Weather app supplying you with less options, I have stopped using it.

Please, if you feel the same way let Apple know not limit our options and the way we want to use our devices, but expand them and give us more options. This current trend of portrait only doesn't match with the Apple I've known since the beginning.

I just woke up and was going to go for a jog this morning and wanted to know what the dew point was and the probability of rainfall as it is cloudy where I reside at the moment. I always do before a jog. And the way I was able to garner such information in the iOS weather app was to rotate my phone. I’ve been doing this for years and seeing as I have the 11 Pro Max, I certainly should have the capabilities to do so! This is definitely a new glitch that only happened after my update to iOS 13.4

It is rather unfortunate as being able to garner said information is very important to me and obviously to others as well.
