Erasing a Mac

Hi, If you’re giving your MacBook Pro away, do you really need to first sign out of everything (itunes, icloud etc) if you’re going to erase the drive anyway? Thanks!

reset comp hi I have a old MacBook Pro the old big one 17" running El Capitan 10.11.6 I want to give it away to someone. how do I erase all my info and basically set it to like when I bought it I've already signed out of anything and got what ever info I wanted out on my new MacBook pro I don't remember if I needed a disk but I just want it wiped out of my stuff thanks in advance
