My airpods will not connect with my iphone 11 pls help!!

I have the gen 2 airpods, I had my left air pod go down the drain. So I bought a replacement & now I'm having issues to pair them with my phone. I tried to follow the instructions on Apple support but nothing works. On my iphone 11 does not detect my airpods on bluetooth settings, and when it does detect the airpods it says that it failed to connect. I tried to reset my airpods and my phone settings and still nothing. Please Help .-.
